Outlaw Street Torque Converter Meltdown, SCSN 2008


Ron Lummus loses the torque converter in his Ford Mustang during the first round of Outlaw Street eliminations. Despite this setback, Ron was able to come back for the second round of drag racing, because his opponent got busted for adding 200 lbs. of weight to his car.

It was all Ron Weems in the Outlaw 10.5 tire drag racing elimination rounds, as you’ll see in these drag racing videos. Ron was able to get his Pontiac Grand Am suspension dialed in for the race track, and he made some solid six-second passes. He also won the 2008 PSCA Outlaw Street 10.5 tire points title, so he will be wearing the big number one on his race car in 2009. Outlaw Street 10.5 Tire Elims, 1st round, PSCA World Finals 2008


This first round of Outlaw 10.5 tire drag racing was highly anticipated, because the top 3 qualifiers had all run deep into the sixes. However, there were some broken race car parts, along with a change in the track conditions, that made it a challenge to get reliable horsepower to the ground.
