The Pat McDermott Fast Fiat is back in black! Or should we say back in dinged-up blue? This is the second session on the drag racing car, since the Fontana crash last year. This VW dragster runs a four cylinder engine that is set up in the classic Volkswagen flat-4 configuration. There is a single turbocharger, with one stage of nitrous.

UPDATE 11/4/2007: The team ran a series of 6.8x-second passes at the Street Car Super Nationals race in Las Vegas this weekend. There had been an NHRA national event the previous weekend, so the track was very sticky, and when combined with the low ambient air temps, it made the chassis tune-up very difficult for all the vehicles in attendance. Wheel hop was the norm, and many car owners were forced to de-tune the engine slightly in order to get a clean launch.
